When Daniel finally remembers who he is and returns to his family I was hoping things would improve, but they did not. Augusta’s health isn’t the best and she keeps threatening to come back from the dead to haunt future generations of Phenwick women. Edward isn’t having any of it, which is a good thing because, spoiler alert… Daniel might be heading back to town sooner rather than later. Margaret also takes some time out to throw herself at Edward who is Daniel’s adopted brother and Jane’s (of the last terrible book) actual brother. He can’t remember who he is and has been wandering under the name Joe since the Revolutionary War. Meanwhile, Daniel Phenwick, the object of Margaret’s desire is in the midst of a long bout of amnesia. Kudos to Margaret because she managed to rebrand herself and escape the attentions of all the pervy neighborhood men including the Reverend. You’ll remember Margaret as Titter from the last book, daughter of the O’Plaggerties. This book is all about Margaret, who is apparently, faithful, but I am not sure how Kimbrough decides she is faithful. I honestly am glad I only have four of these books in total in this series and this is number three so we are ALMOST finished I promise! Another bad book brought to you by the Saga of the Phenwick Women.
